Electronic Asset Management System (eAMS)
Introduction:
Asset Management is a systematic process of deploying, operating, maintaining, upgrading, and disposing of assets cost-effectively.In this pilot implementation Asset Management System refers to a module within the MOHFW Supply Chain Management Portal having a wide range of features to manage assets from its registering stage to decommissioning as well as being accessible by the decision-makers at various levels of the MOHFW and other stakeholders.
Objective:
The core objectives of the asset management system are to enable the MOHFW -
- To be aware of the existence and exact location of the assets it owns
- To ensure safeguarding of these assets from any potential misuse
- To take necessary action for proper repair & maintenance of the assets and
- To reduce new and unnecessary purchases
- Need based forecasting and procurement planning
Expected outcome:
- Help reduction of loss, misuse and ensure proper installation of medical equipment and other asset
- Help reduction of cost for repair & maintenance
- Ensure optimal utilization of budget for procuring various assets
- Evidence based decision making
